Auguroni di Buon Anno! Slide into your lacy reds and celebrate New Years Eve with 3 rollicking days of yoga, adventure and sexy Italian food.
While we just tripped over the winter solstice we’re already dreaming of summer heat. Sweaty skin and sunburnt noses, aperitivo by the pool. So we’ve made a plan to gather a crew and welcome in 2018 Italian style – with red knickers, a family feast and a very special guest.
Our final escape for 2017 will take place at the historic Highball House in the Southern Highlands, surrounded by lush shade trees and the bounce of our favourite beats. Farewell the old and welcome the new with a wine tasting curated by our very special guest, John Blackwood of Hobart’s First Wednesday Wine Club, followed by classic aperitivo and Cenone dell'ultimo (A feast to end all feasts).
We’ll journey into the cool green of the nearby national park, catch rays by the pool, and roll up our sleeves for a very hands-on cooking class. The yoga will be epic. The pasta will be too. Escape the city and get away with an easy dancing, out-loud laughing crew who love a Sangiovese as much as a skandasana.
*Red undies optional but highly advised. Says Luca, “I don’t know if everyone in Italy does this but we do. Red is lucky, it brings ‘allegria - joy’ and consequently good fortune and keeps negative energy away. To give red underwear is to wish the receiver a rich and satisfying year ahead.”
